Since receiving its $2.7 million grant from the National Science Foundation in August 2022, the Oklahoma Network - Research and Mentoring for Post-baccalaureates (ON-RaMP) program at Oklahoma State University has begun working with its first group of eight biological sciences graduates.

OSU receives NSF grant to host research mentor program for recent biology grads

Thanks to a $2.7 million grant from the National Science Foundation, Oklahoma State University will be home to a three-year program to mentor recent college graduates with biology degrees. The NSF Research and Mentoring for Postbaccalaureates in Biological Sciences (RaMP) program will begin at OSU in June 2023 with an initial class of eight mentees, who will spend the year researching and training in professional skills.

OSU, OU scientists collaborate to sequence, map new genome

A team of researchers from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma published a genome sequence and chromosome map for the micro-crustacean Daphnia pulicaria. Researchers in the laboratory of Punidan Jeyasingh in OSU’s Department of Integrative Biology, in collaboration with the laboratory of OU biology professor Lawrence Weider, led the efforts. The results of their work were published in the journal Molecular Ecology.
